Fun Money, Marine Insurance

0

There’s going to come a time when, as a successful adult, you’ve accumulated something called “disposable income.” Now, this doesn’t mean you’ll be throwing money in the garbage. Instead, it means you have money available to spend on things that don’t fall into the “necessity” category. It’s fun money. Cash you can spend on hobbies or to fulfill a life-long dream. However, if you’re the type of person who’s saved wisely enough to be this flush of funds, you’re also the kind of person who’s going to spend it with your eyes wide open about the hidden costs attached to your new, fun purchase.

Fun That Floats

Many people spend their extra cash on their dream vehicle. Flashy, fast cars may come to mind. For some, though, their new combustion engine of choice is attached to a boat. Fast and flashy works on the water, too, in the form of cigarette boats and other jet boats. Some have the engine just as a backup, as with sailboats the primary mode of propulsion is the wind in the sails. Regardless of how your boat gets from pier to pier, you’ll need to prepare for contingencies. You’ll need to know how to operate your boat and where to get marine insurance. Also, having an idea of what you’ll need in terms of spare marine engine room parts can potentially help you from being stranded at sea.

Travel

Some of you won’t want to provide your own propulsion; you’ll want to enjoy the ride and the scenery it provides. Before you embark on traveling, think about where you want to go, what you want to do and how you’d like your accommodations to be when you get there. You want your dream vacation to actually reflect your dreams, not someone else’s. Scour travel blogs, tourism brochures and travel magazines as you plan to get the most out of your trip.

Becoming an adult has some perks, but they’re more enjoyable if you plan beforehand.
