Make Your Bathroom Cleaning a Bit Easier

0

Nobody likes bathroom cleaning, we get it. But keeping your bathroom clean is imperative for a healthy home. It’s one of the most commonly used rooms in your home. Coupled with the fact that it’s where a lot of our waste is deposited, it should be clear to you that you should not take it lightly.

Don’t despair, though. There are some ways you can make your bathroom cleaning just a bit easier or more economical. Cleaning experts at Blue Spruce Maids shared these tips with us.

Getting Rid of Limescale Buildup

If you live in an area with hard water, chances are that you are very familiar with water stains, or as they are more accurately called – limescale. Limescale is a mineral deposit, which means that you need a kind of acid to remove it. And while vinegar is perhaps the most commonly offered solution, it does come with some downsides – for one, it smells really bad, and it can be a bit abrasive to more porous tiles in your bathroom.

Black tea, on the other hand, contains a very mild tannic acid which is ideally suited to clean your bathroom surfaces while not damaging them. Plus, who doesn’t like the smell of tea? Simply brew a kettle of tea with two or three bags in it. Let it cool and use it to soak a towel or a sponge which you will use to clean your bathroom surfaces.

Get Your Grout Shiny

The grout between your bathroom tiles can be kind of difficult to clean, especially if the grout is white. Chances are that no matter how meticulously you clean, they will fade and change color. However, the cleanliness of your grouts is not just for aesthetic reasons. Dirty grouts are the ideal place for germs to hide from your cleaning.

However, the solution is quite simple – all you need is a cleaning solution made of borax, baking soda and a bit of water. Use the sponge to apply it to the grouts. Give it a bit of time to react and then simply wash it off. It should clean the grouts easily. If you can’t reach the whole grout, perhaps you will need to use a toothbrush to access every bit.

Cleaning Large Surfaces Quickly

Speaking of washing your walls, don’t you just hate spending so much time and effort to apply the cleaning product onto your walls, and then spending even more time washing it all off? While time-consuming, cleaning your bathroom walls is necessary. And there is a way to make it easier and faster.

If you have a squeegee, the whole process can be done in minutes. The relatively large surface and the adhesion of the squeegee will ensure that the whole process is not only quick, but also thorough. Once you try it, you’ll be amazed how you ever cleaned your bathroom without it.

Keep You Toilet Brush Disinfected

One of the most important aspects of cleaning your bathroom is keeping everything sanitary and disinfected. With multiple access points to your sewer line, the bathroom needs to be kept clean at all times.

The toilet brush is one of the items that gets a lot of use and that really needs to be kept clean and disinfected.

And the solution is actually very simple. All you need to do is add some disinfectant of choice to the brush holder. That way, it will always have some disinfectant on it, and can be washed down by the toilet itself.

Hopefully, some of these tips will transform the way you clean your bathroom. Whether it will make it easier, faster, or just cheaper – we could all use a bit of positive thinking when it comes to cleaning bathrooms.
