His sportsmanship and assistance helped children from impoverished homes to dream big in life. Bachchan plays Vijay Barse, a professor who inspires the slum kids to join a football team in the film.

The film was revealed in February 2019, and in the year 2020, the makers of Jhund released a short preview in which Big B played Vijay Barse, the founder of the NGO Slum Soccer. “Jhund nahi kahiye sir, team kahiye, team,” Amitabh Bachchan stated in the trailer.

Movie Story

The story is set in Nagpur’s Gaddigodam slums, and it begins with Manjule giving us an up-close look at the slum residents who live off the land. From chain-snatching to selling illegal liquor, the youth participate in a variety of unlawful activities. When they’re not using drugs, some of them gamble and get into fights on the street. One day Vijay Borade (Amitabh Bachchan), a sports coach at St John’s School and a social worker, is nearing retirement. He comes across a bunch of slum children playing football with a plastic barrel. Vijay befriends them and instructs them about the game. The kids soon begin to create life goals as they learn more about themselves and the sport.
