Accessible Disabled Traveler Necessary Information.

0

Throughout these stages, disabled travelers must receive all the necessary information: on which platform they must go, if their train is late, its direction, its stops, etc. This means that the passenger information terminals must be both visual and audible to help deaf or hard of hearing users and blind or visually impaired users travel peacefully. In itself, facilitating their access to information is just as essential as giving them physical access to the station or the metro.

Functional And Accessible Housing

Accessible housing means, for example, allowing people using a wheelchair to move around without difficulty, from the exterior paths leading to the entrance door of the building up to the height of the kitchen worktop. Once again, the difficulties that people with disabilities may encounter are considered so that their accommodation fully meets their needs.

  • The surroundings of the house
  • PRM parking spaces
  • Pathway with visual and tactile contrast for visually impaired people
  • Fluid and barrier-free path
  • Path with space to maneuver with the possibility of turning around for people in wheelchairs
  • Entrance ramp or raised threshold for wheelchair users
  • Device making it possible to enter the dwelling or to signal oneself to the occupant easily identifiable and reachable, audible and visual
  • Sound and visual devices allow the visitor to communicate with the occupant easily
  • The interior of the house
  • The path is accessible to all accommodation parts: cellar, pantry, garbage room, etc.
  • Path with space to maneuver with the possibility of turning around for people in wheelchairs
  • Raised apartment numbers for the visually impaired
  • Secure stairs as indicated above
  • Elevator with raised signage for blind or visually impaired people
  • Door handles are easily grasped and accessible for people with reduced mobility
  • Shower room with toilets and wheelchair accessible equipment

Accessibility Of Workplaces

We told you about this earlier in our chapter on inclusion. Companies and all workplaces are affected by accessibility regulations. We, therefore, find the same equipment and devices to be put in place (access ramp, secure stairs, accessible toilets, signage, etc.) to allow employees or visitors with disabilities to access the building and move around it without the slightest obstacle.

Accessibility Of Facilities Open To The Public

To understand the facilities, open to the public, called IOP, we must first focus on the facilities open to the public. Indeed, a building is considered an ERP by the fire services when the question of the evacuation of people arises. In other words, the concept of IOP completes the definition of ERP based on the needs of fire safety. Check for wheelchair van repair shop
